Kyiv residents call for protection after deadly missile strike

Ukraine is urging its allies to provide more air defence systems as Russia intensifies missile attacks on cities across the country.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to press the case for additional support at the NATO summit, arguing that more Patriot missile systems are needed to defend against ballistic missile strikes.

For residents in Kyiv, the consequences of those attacks are visible every day. One recent missile strike destroyed part of an apartment building, killing dozens of people and leaving survivors to rebuild their lives.
