Americans celebrate 250 years of Independence Day across the US

Communities across the United States are marking the country's 250th Independence Day with celebrations ranging from concerts and parades to military flyovers and fireworks.

Millions are expected to gather on Washington's National Mall, where President Donald Trump is due to deliver a speech as part of the America250 commemorations. While extreme heat led to the cancellation of some events, celebrations continued in cities and towns across the country.
