Ukraine-Russia strikes: War intensifies as drone attacks escalate

Drone attacks between Russia and Ukraine escalated, with Russia's defence ministry claiming 389 Ukrainian drones were shot down and at least five people killed in strikes. Six guided bombs hit a residential area in Sumy and more than 40 people were injured, while Ukraine targeted Russian energy sites in the Leningrad region and St Petersburg, prompting petrol queues in Moscow. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukrainian forces also struck Kronstadt, more than 850 kilometres from the border.
