Extreme Heat Disrupts US Independence Day Celebrations
Extreme heat is disrupting Independence Day celebrations across the United States as a heat dome brings dangerously high temperatures and humidity to much of the country.
In Washington, DC, parts of the National Mall's America250 celebrations were temporarily closed after visitors required medical attention for heat-related illnesses. Across the US, some communities have cancelled parades, postponed fireworks and urged residents to limit time outdoors.
