Members of Parliament, including Garu MP Thomas Winsum Anabah, Ayawaso East MP Baba Jamal, and Salaga South MP Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, are urging traders to prioritise insuring their businesses to protect themselves against future disasters.

The appeal follows Monday's flooding and fire outbreaks in Accra, which claimed lives and destroyed homes, shops, and businesses across several communities.

According to the MPs, greater awareness of business insurance will help traders recover more quickly from disasters, reduce dependence on government support, and strengthen financial resilience.
