President John Dramani Mahama has sworn in Dr. Pamela Graham as Ghana's new Auditor-General, describing accountability and prudent public financial management as essential pillars of national development.

During the swearing-in ceremony, President Mahama stressed that economic recovery, domestic revenue mobilisation, the 24-Hour Economy, infrastructure development, export growth, and social investments all depend on strong institutions and responsible management of public resources.

He reminded all public officials that accountability is not optional but a constitutional obligation, adding that every ministry, department, agency, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assembly, and state-owned enterprise must uphold the highest standards of financial discipline.

The President also pledged continued investment in the Ghana Audit Service through modern audit technology, digital systems, capacity building, and institutional reforms, while urging all public institutions to cooperate fully with the Auditor-General and implement audit recommendations promptly.
