Alfred Nii Kotey Ashie argued that the reclaimed land had nothing to do with flood mitigation, insisting it was earmarked for an Agenda 111 hospital and urging all stakeholders to avoid politicizing the flooding situation. Henry Quartey, however, rejected those claims, maintaining that the real problem is the severe silting of canals and waterways, particularly around Keta Ki, which obstructs the flow of water into the sea. He also denied claims that 78 acres were reclaimed for the Agenda 111 project, insisting his comments were based on facts rather than politics.
