Exclusive: Iran slams US World Cup hosting as 'century' snub

"What we witnessed makes me believe the US won't be granted hosting rights by FIFA for another century," Iranian football federation spokesperson Amir-Mehdi Alavi told CGTN. He said Iran wasn't alone since Iraq and other teams voiced similar complaints. The team returned home to a hero's welcome, with fans gathering at Tehran's airport to greet the squad.
