Isabel Wilkerson: Justice Jackson's concurrence reflects the legacy of Reconstruction
Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Isabel Wilkerson joins MS NOW's Lawrence O'Donnell to discuss Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson's birthright citizenship concurrence and how it reflects the lived history of Black Americans whose ancestors endured slavery and sharecropping in the American South. Wilkerson says Jackson's opinion recognizes that formerly enslaved people sought citizenship not only for themselves, but as "vanguard" for the rights of all marginalized people.
