Closer to home: Rethinking cancer care

Cancer patients in western Hunan once had to travel hundreds of kilometers for treatment. Now, Dr. Wang is leading a reform to bring chemotherapy closer to home, allowing patients to have treatment and return home the same day. Despite early resistance and ongoing staffing challenges, the team is steadily rebuilding the system step by step, making care more accessible, efficient and humane.
