Native Americans react to US' 250th birthday
At a powwow marking the 250 years of the United States, Native Americans reflected on resilience, military service, historical trauma and cultural identity. Several speakers described feeling both proud to be American and proud of their Native heritage while acknowledging the lasting impacts of forced displacement, boarding schools and the loss of language and culture.
