Six months ago, U.S. President Donald Trump caused global shockwaves with the forcible seizure of his former Venezuelan counterpart Nicolas Maduro.

The military operation was followed by a reset of what was previously an antagonistic relationship, with the Trump administration backing Venezuela's interim president Delcy Rodriguez.
