Flood Wreaks Havoc at Accra Digital Centre – Laptops & Offices Destroyed

The Accra Digital Centre is counting significant losses after Monday's heavy rains submerged parts of the facility, disrupting operations and affecting 23 businesses operating within the technology hub.

Several offices were flooded, with laptops, furniture, carpets, and other essential equipment damaged by rising floodwaters.

According to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Digital Centres Limited, Christine Adwoa Agyapomaa Ansong Esq, this is one of the most severe incidents the facility has experienced since its establishment.

Management has temporarily asked most staff to stay home as the premises remain unsafe for operations.

The floods also affected tenant companies, many of which are key revenue contributors to the centre. Some equipment, including laptops, were completely submerged, and assessments are ongoing to determine what can be recovered.
