Former President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has called on young people across Africa to become strong advocates for education, describing it as the foundation for the continent's long-term development.

Speaking as Special Guest at the 3rd West Africa Youth Summit in Accra, he emphasized that investment in education is essential for building a skilled workforce capable of addressing Africa's most pressing challenges.

He highlighted Ghana's Free Senior High School policy as a major step toward expanding access to education, noting that it has enabled many young people—especially girls and those from disadvantaged backgrounds—to continue their studies regardless of financial barriers.

The former President encouraged youth across the continent to champion education in their countries, stressing that Africa's progress depends on an educated population capable of developing homegrown solutions to African problems.
