The Minister for Transport, Joseph Bukari Nikpe, has responded to concerns raised by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) regarding the government's acquisition of locomotives for the railway sector.

The NPP had demanded full disclosure on the age, condition, cost, and long-term value of the locomotives, insisting that transparency is necessary to assess the deal's impact on Ghana's rail infrastructure.

However, the Transport Minister described the opposition's concerns as an attempt to generate unnecessary debate, stressing that the Ministry will provide a detailed response in due course.

He assured that all relevant information regarding the procurement process and the state of the locomotives will be made available to address public concerns and ensure accountability.
