The Ghana Chamber of Mines is calling for a major review of the country's mining revenue-sharing formula, urging that at least 30 percent of mining royalties be allocated directly to host communities.
According to the Chamber, the current system—where only about 8 percent of mining revenues reaches local assemblies—is insufficient and fails to deliver meaningful development in mining areas.
The renewed call adds to ongoing national discussions about fairness, resource distribution, and community development in Ghana's mining sector.
