The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has revealed the devastating impact of the flooding caused by Monday's heavy rains across Accra.

Speaking on the floor of Parliament, the Minister disclosed that 12 people have lost their lives, seven remain missing, and 7,761 households have been displaced across 18 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies.

According to the official update, the floods have affected 38,802 people, making it one of the most significant flooding incidents in recent years.

Government says emergency response efforts are ongoing as authorities continue search, rescue and relief operations in the affected communities.
