WATCH: Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak says the recent floods in Greater Accra were driven by exceptionally heavy rainfall.
He disclosed that 169.2mm of rain was recorded in a single day, with a total of 593.2mm for June—reportedly the highest monthly rainfall in Ghana's history according to the Ghana Meteorological Agency.
He noted that while human activities worsened the situation, the intensity of the rains alone would have caused significant flooding across affected areas.
