WATCH: The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, is appealing to Ghanaians affected by power outages following Monday's heavy rains to remain patient as engineers work to fully restore electricity supply.

According to the Minister, the temporary outages were necessary to protect lives and safeguard power infrastructure in flood-affected areas.

Speaking at the 18th Annual General Meeting of Tema Oil Refinery in Accra, Mr. Jinapor said electricity has already been restored to some affected communities, while monitoring and technical assessments continue to ensure all impacted areas are safely reconnected.

Authorities say restoration efforts remain ongoing as the country recovers from the effects of the recent flooding.
