WATCH: The Coordinator of the Greater Accra Resilient and Integrated Development (GARID) Project, Dr. Ohene Sarfoh, has cautioned that expanding drains alone will not solve Accra's perennial flooding.

His comments come after recent heavy rains caused widespread flooding across parts of Accra, renewing debate over the effectiveness of the city's drainage infrastructure.

Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show, Dr. Sarfoh stressed that flooding is a complex challenge that requires multiple, coordinated interventions rather than a single solution.

He added that sustainable urban planning, improved waste management, and stronger enforcement are key to addressing the problem long-term.
