Following days of severe perennial flooding caused by heavy rains, affected communities are now entering a recovery phase as authorities and residents begin a “big push” to restore normalcy.
The floods disrupted life across several parts of Accra and surrounding areas, damaging roads, homes, and infrastructure, and leaving many communities temporarily cut off.
Efforts are now underway to:
Clear flood-hit roads and drains Restore access to affected communities Assess property and infrastructure damage Support recovery in the hardest-hit areas
Authorities say the focus is shifting from emergency response to recovery and restoration, as Ghana works to regain momentum after the rainfall disaster.
