Iran and US talks begin with mixed messaging

US envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump's son-in-law ‌Jared Kushner are in Doha to meet Qatari mediators but they will not be a meeting directly with Iranian officials, according to Qatar's Foreign Ministry.
