According to her, the revised approach is aimed at restoring proper water flow in silted river channels, improving the effectiveness of treatment processes, and helping to reduce flooding in affected areas. The EPA says this new strategy forms part of broader efforts to address environmental degradation and water pollution linked to illegal mining activities.
