‘Scary’: Lisa Rubin on SCOTUS ruling allowing Trump to fire agency heads
On Monday, the Supreme Court ruled presidents can fire most heads of independent federal agencies at will — with the exception of the Federal Reserve. MS NOW's Lisa Rubin says Chief Justice Roberts' majority opinion “suggests that the president has the constitutional authority to fire any subordinate.” She calls the proposition “enormously terrifying” for threatening the civil service “writ large.”
