SCOTUS to Rule on Birthright Citizenship
SCOTUS is set to rule on birthright citizenship before its summer recess. The Trump Administration is challenging long-held interpretations of the 14th Amendment (jus soli), arguing that not everyone born in the United States is entitled to citizenship. The court's decision is expected by July 4, after which they won't reconvene until October. The court has been mostly receptive to the Trump Administration's anti-immigration drive, ruling recently that the Administration can revoke the temporarily protected status (TPS) of thousands of Haitian and Syrian immigrants.
