One killed in shooting at California World Cup fan zone site

One person was killed and another seriously injured after a shooting at San Pedro Square in San Jose, California, on Sunday, June 28.

The site is a popular entertainment district that has hosted FIFA World Cup fan zone screenings.

There were no World Cup matches being shown at the time of the shooting, and authorities have not indicated any connection between the incident and the tournament.
