Urban Farmers reclaim their food sovereignty

Food sovereignty gives power back to communities, letting them decide what to grow and how to grow it, as they reconnect with ancestral knowledge. Erika Allen is helping her community do just that, empowering people to become independent growers. Allen is Founder and CEO of Urban Growers Collective; and co-owner of Green Era Sustainability Partners. Formerly, Allen founded and served as the director of Growing Power – Chicago, and she also co-founded the Chicago Food Policy Action Council.
