Exclusive: Chinese community in Venezuela rallies to deliver 240 tonnes of earthquake relief

The Federation of Chinese Associations in Venezuela has donated 240 metric tonnes of food and daily necessities to families affected by this week's deadly earthquakes.

The relief supplies were donated by the Chinese community and Chinese enterprises in Venezuela. They were handed over on Friday at the National Experimental Maritime University of the Caribbean in Catia La Mar, a city in the hard-hit state of La Guaira. The donation is expected to benefit about 5,000 families.

One of the aid trucks bears a message that reads: "La Guaira needs us! The Chinese community in Venezuela is always ready to help. We live to serve."
