Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Haruna Mohammed, says recent comments attributed to former presidential aspirant Kennedy Agyapong are in breach of the party's constitutional rules on loyalty and discipline.

He explained that the remarks under review are considered to undermine party unity and fall short of the standards expected of members, particularly regarding public conduct and loyalty to party decisions.

Speaking on Eyewitness News on Friday, June 26, Haruna Mohammed said the NPP constitution requires members to uphold and defend the party's decisions at all times, adding that the comments in question violate multiple provisions of those rules.

He noted that petitions have been filed and are currently under review, with the party's National Disciplinary Committee given two weeks to investigate the matter.
