Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has clarified that Ghanaian supporters sent to the 2026 FIFA World Cup are receiving stipends rather than per diems.
Speaking exclusively to Channel One Sports, the Minister explained that the financial support is intended to help facilitate the fans' stay during the tournament.
He added that the stipends were disbursed after Ghana's Group L clash against England, as part of government's support for the supporters' experience at the tournament.
The clarification comes amid public discussions about the nature and funding of government support for fans at international competitions.
