The opposition New Patriotic Party (New Patriotic Party) has referred former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, to its National Disciplinary Committee.
This follows a series of petitions filed against him over recent public comments that party leaders say are detrimental to unity and cohesion within the NPP.
The decision was taken by the party's National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Council during a meeting on Thursday. The Disciplinary Committee has been given two weeks to investigate the petitions and submit its report.
According to NPP National Organizer, Henry Nana Boakye, the recommendations of the committee will determine the next course of action by the party.
The development marks a significant internal disciplinary process within the NPP as it seeks to manage internal tensions and maintain cohesion.
