Tension is high in Kasoa following the shutdown of Obaatanpa Radio amid allegations that discussions on the station were fueling internal political wranglings within the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The Central Regional Chairman of the NDC, Richard Kofi Asiedu, and the Awutu Senya East Municipal Chief Executive, Seth Sabah Serwonoo-Banini, are reportedly alleged to have stormed the station, disrupted live programming, and subjected staff to harassment and physical assault.

The incident has led to the shutdown of the private radio station, raising concerns about media freedom and political tensions in the area.

Central Regional correspondent Akwasi Addo reports that the situation has heightened anxiety in Kasoa as investigations continue.
