The Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, says government is considering the introduction of an Executive Order that would make drug testing a mandatory requirement for employment in both the public and private sectors.

Speaking on the floor of Parliament, he explained that the proposed policy is aimed at improving workplace safety and discouraging drug use among young people.

According to him, the measure forms part of broader efforts to promote discipline, productivity, and accountability within Ghana's workforce.

The proposal is expected to generate public debate as stakeholders weigh its implications for workers' rights and employment practices.
