The National Road Safety Authority (National Road Safety Authority) has reiterated plans to restrict the operation of VOXY vehicles to intra-city transport services, citing safety concerns over their use on long-distance routes.

Speaking during a working visit to the Northern Regional Police Command, the Director General of the NRSA, Abraham Amaliba, explained that VOXY vehicles were not designed for inter-city travel and have frequently been involved in highway crashes.

He also disclosed that discussions are ongoing with relevant ministries and the Customs Division to strengthen enforcement of existing laws against the importation of right-hand drive vehicles into Ghana.

The NRSA says the proposed measures form part of broader efforts to improve road safety, reduce accidents, and ensure vehicles are used for their intended purpose.
