NRSA to Restrict VOXY Vehicles to Intra-City Use Over Safety Concerns

The National Road Safety Authority (National Road Safety Authority) says it is considering restricting VOXY vehicles to intra-city transport services due to growing safety concerns linked to their use on long-distance routes and increasing highway crashes.

Director General of NRSA, Abraham Amaliba, explained that the move forms part of broader efforts to improve road safety and reduce preventable accidents on Ghana's highways.

He also disclosed that discussions are ongoing regarding the enforcement of laws governing right-hand drive vehicle imports, as part of stricter regulatory measures.

The Authority is calling for stronger collaboration with stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies and transport operators, to help reduce road accidents and improve compliance with safety regulations.
