The Director General of the National Road Safety Authority (National Road Safety Authority), Abraham Amaliba, has condemned interference from some opinion leaders in efforts to enforce helmet use and improve road safety compliance in the Northern Region.

He expressed concern over low compliance among motorbike riders and urged traditional and community leaders to actively support enforcement efforts by promoting helmet use and responsible road behaviour.

Mr. Amaliba reaffirmed the NRSA's commitment to working closely with the Ghana Police Service and local authorities to reduce road crashes and improve safety across the country.

The Authority says stronger collaboration and public education remain key to changing behaviour and saving lives on Ghana's roads.
