Speaking on Eyewitness News on Thursday, June 25, he said the region, being one of Ghana's youngest, should be assessed within the context of its recent creation and gradual development.
According to him, major institutions that were previously absent in Nalerigu are now being established, including a fully operational Regional Coordinating Council.
He also noted that a Regional Police Command headquarters is under construction and nearing completion, while the Regional Highways Directorate and other state agencies are gradually taking shape.
“We cannot compare the North East Region to most of the other regions because this is an infant region and we are growing. So steadily, certainly, we will get there,” he said.
Mr. Tia added that his administration has contributed to development efforts over the past one year and six months in office, expressing confidence that continued implementation of government policies will accelerate progress.
He maintained that with sustained efforts under the government's development agenda, the region will record even greater gains in the coming years.
