The Minority in Parliament says the proposed increase in utility tariffs effective July 1 will undermine the government's 24-hour economy programme.

The caucus argues that the 3.49% increase in electricity tariffs and 0.85% increase in water tariffs will negatively affect industries and further reduce consumers' purchasing power.

Addressing journalists, Deputy Ranking Member on the Energy Committee, Collins Adomako-Mensah, highlighted the potential impact of the tariff adjustments on the cost of living and business operations in Ghana.

The Minority warns that the increases could place additional pressure on households and businesses already grappling with rising economic challenges.
