President John Dramani Mahama has announced that Cabinet has directed the Attorney General to draft a State Assets Protection Bill aimed at safeguarding public assets and strengthening accountability in governance.

Speaking at the Ghana Civil Society Forum 2026, he said the move is part of broader efforts to improve transparency and protect state resources from misuse.

He also announced Cabinet's approval of the National Ethics and Anti-Corruption Plan 2026–2030, which he described as a key framework to strengthen integrity systems and rebuild public trust.

The initiatives form part of government's renewed focus on governance reforms, accountability, and institutional strengthening.
