Government Scraps Tax on School Feeding Caterers to Boost Meal Quality

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has scrapped tax on feeding fees for School Feeding Programme caterers as part of efforts to improve meal quality and reduce financial pressure on service providers.
The decision follows an upward adjustment of the feeding fee from GH¢1.50 to GH¢2 per meal.
Sector Minister Agnes Naa Momo Lartey said the move is aimed at improving efficiency and enhancing service delivery under the programme.
The reforms are expected to support caterers in delivering better meals to schoolchildren while strengthening the overall implementation of the School Feeding Programme.
