Interior Minister Warns Regional Ministers Over Misuse of Security Agencies | News Feed

The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak, has cautioned Regional Ministers against the arbitrary and partisan use of state security agencies.

He warned that although there may be pressure on government officials to deploy security agencies against political opponents, such actions could undermine national stability and public trust.

He made the remarks during a training programme on the Security and Intelligence Agencies Act, 2026 (Act 1168) held in Accra, where Regional Ministers were briefed on proper security governance and legal responsibilities.

The Minister urged Regional Ministers to work closely with security services, uphold accountability, and ensure that all actions are guided strictly by law in order to maintain peace and security across the country.
