The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (Public Utilities Regulatory Commission) has defended its decision to adjust electricity and water tariffs, stating that the increases are necessary to sustain utility service delivery across the country.

Under the latest quarterly review, electricity tariffs have been increased by 3.49 percent while water tariffs have gone up by 0.85 percent.
