Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga is calling for the enactment of legislation to make it mandatory for institutions, factories, and agencies to reserve a quota of jobs for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
Speaking in Parliament during a commemorative statement, he argued that such a policy would help reduce unemployment among PWDs and promote greater inclusion in the workforce.
The proposal forms part of ongoing national discussions on social protection, equal opportunity, and inclusive economic participation for all citizens.
Stakeholders are expected to further deliberate on the policy direction as part of broader efforts to strengthen disability rights in Ghana.
