The President of the Greater Accra Market Association, Mercy Naa Afrowa NeeDjan, has expressed support for the Accra Metropolitan Assembly's (Accra Metropolitan Assembly) Makola Market Redevelopment Project.

The project follows protests by some traders who petitioned authorities to reconsider what they described as a forceful eviction linked to planned redevelopment works.

Despite the concerns, the Association leadership says the initiative will improve business operations, enhance safety, and provide better facilities for traders and customers.

According to her, the redevelopment represents a major step toward creating a modern, safer, and more efficient trading environment in Accra.
