'PWDs don't want sympathy; they want what they're entitled to' - Annoh-Dompreh urges gov't action
Minority Chief Whip and MP for Nsawam/Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has called on government to ensure Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) receive the full support they are entitled to under Ghana's laws.
Speaking on the floor of Parliament during proceedings to mark National Disability Day, he stressed that PWDs are not seeking sympathy but equal treatment and legal protection as citizens.
“Our compatriots are not asking for sympathy; they are asking that, by law, they are given the necessary support as is given to every citizen of this country,” he said.
His remarks add to growing calls from both Majority and Minority sides of Parliament for stronger enforcement of disability laws and improved social protection systems for PWDs in Ghana.
