The Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, has questioned the Ayawaso North Municipal Chief Executive, Mohammed Awal, over the municipality's failure to utilize funds allocated for the construction of a 24-Hour Economy Model Market.

He expressed concern that despite the release of funds through the District Assemblies Common Fund, little progress has been made on the project, leaving traders to continue operating on the streets.

The Minister stressed that the Common Fund is intended to improve living conditions through essential infrastructure and services, and warned that delays undermine development efforts.

The engagement highlighted growing concerns over accountability, project execution, and urban market infrastructure within the municipality.
