The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (Public Utilities Regulatory Commission) has announced an upward review of electricity and water tariffs effective July 1.
Under the Commission's third-quarter tariff adjustment, electricity tariffs have been increased by 3.49% across the board, while water tariffs have gone up by 0.85%.
The Commission explains that the review was influenced by factors including the cedi–dollar exchange rate, inflation trends, the national electricity generation mix, and the cost of natural gas used in power production.
The new adjustments are expected to impact household and commercial utility bills as consumers adjust to the revised pricing regime.
