France tries to cope with exceptionally high temperatures

Over half of France has been placed on red alert due to the ferocious heatwave boiling the country. With the temperature reaching up to 41C in some areas, some French cities have cancelled events programmed for the annual Fete de la Musique - Music Celebration. Authorities have also banned alcohol consumption on the streets and asked local event organisers to adapt festivities.
