US-Iran talks under way in Switzerland with the mediation of Pakistan, Qatar

High level talks are now underway between the US and Iran in Switzerland. The US team is led by Vice President JD Vance. Parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi lead the Iranian delegation. Leaders from Qatar and Pakistan are mediating the talks. US Vice President JD Vance thanked the US president for helping get the talks underway. He says much has been achieved but more work still needs to be done. Pakistan's prime minister Shehbaz Sharif said he hopes the talks will lead to a positive outcome. Qatar's Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani is helping to mediate talks. He says the meeting is historic.
