BREAKING: Vance delivers remarks ahead of Switzerland peace talks
Quadrilateral peace talks between the United States, Iran, Pakistan, and Qatar have officially begun. The U.S. delegation is headed by Vice President JD Vance, who is joined by White House envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Ahead of talks, Vance delivered optimistic remarks stating the U.S. and Iran had “a lot of work to do” but were “excited to do it.” He also downplayed violence in Lebanon as a potential roadblock to reaching a peace deal. It's the latest attempt by the U.S. and Iran to get last week's agreement back on track after strikes between Israel and Lebanon, which led Iranian officials to announce plans to close the Strait of Hormuz.
